Born in Lima, Peru, Izmael Crespo began his artistic journey as a nocturnal street artist, which eventually led him to a career in advertising. With a desire to explore the world, Izmael transitioned from street walls to design software, starting as an Art Director at CircusGrey (Peru). Surrounded by creative talent, he focused on the business value behind ideas, working as a Web Developer for clients like BCP, Falabella, San Fernando, and UPC.
During the first eight years of his career, Izmael graduated from four advertising schools as an Art Director, including "Leo Design," "La Calle Creativa," and "BPRO Design Training Center." Living in Argentina and graduating from the "Escuela Superior de Creativos Publicitarios" further fueled his desire to explore other markets.
Izmael subsequently relocated to Colombia, where he joined MullenLowe SSP3, collaborating with prominent clients such as Itaú Bank, Bepanthen, Budweiser, and Lifebuoy. His contributions to the development of global campaigns for Spotify at Media.Monks underscored his international success, leading him to DAVID The Agency in Bogotá. There, he worked with global brands like Budweiser and Corona, earning accolades such as Agency of the Year and Client of the Year. Driven by a passion for new experiences and diverse markets, Izmael's journey has truly taken him around the world. As of 2024, he is known as Iz or 奕喵 at DDB Group Hong Kong, where he serves as Creative Director. He has spearheaded projects for McDonald's, Marriott Group, and Mars Group, launching campaigns for Eclipse, Double Mint, and Airwaves across more than six countries in the Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia.
Izmael Crespo is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, highlighted by the first Titanium Lion to China with Corona Extra Lime, including 13 Cannes Lions, 11 Clio Awards, 16 Effies, 4 D&AD awards, 7 LIA awards, and more.
He is one of the best Art Directors in the Regional Top 10 by One Show Festival
in the last 2 editions 2023,2024.
Currently, he is working as Associate Creative Director at GUT Asia.
